Holland 300 Update! We're at 49 $100.00 donations in just 5 days!

Wow! Just wow! In the five days since we launched the Holland 300, we're just shy of hitting 50 people! Thank you everyone for showing your appreciation for the Holland Project. We can't tell you how much this means to us. We love you!

If you're one of the 49, we ask one more favor: Please pass it on. Tweet it. Facebook it. Post it to your blog. Tell your friends. We'll get to 300 if we get the word out!

(and a very special thank you to Kerri Harrop, Geralda Miller, Lauren Siegel, Josh Ayala, Nick Larsen, Peggy Curtis, and Aja Pecknold for spreading the word near and far!)

Holland needs you.

We're asking you to donate $100, to help make up part of a serious shortfall in funding the Holland Project is currently facing due to major cuts in funding on all fronts. Because you've been a strong supporter so far, and because you believe in the arts and in the power of young people, we hope you join us! If 300 people can donate and join our campaign, Holland will raise $30,000, and be stronger and better than ever.

Holland Project is one of Northern Nevada’s youngest non-profit organizations—at just 3 years old—and is fighting for funding with organizations with decades of history in our region, and with budgets that are multiple times larger. The current economic climate makes it extremely difficult for any non-profit organization to secure funding, but hits new and young organizations the hardest.

Holland Project, as a young organization, has maintained a spirit of creativity, resourcefulness, thrifty spending, and a DIY ethos that has enabled our young organization to grow and prosper even in the toughest of times. Because Holland has always operated on a small budget and utilized our resources to the maximum, we find ourselves unable to pinch our pennies or stretch our dollars any further--and we are asking for help from our community, our friends and family, to help us overcome this hurdle.

We've always believed in power in numbers, and we've always found support by looking in unusual places. It's with this spirit that I ask you to be a part of Holland's 300 Campaign. If 300 people can donate just $100, Holland Project will meet its goal of $30,000 and have enough funds to carry out its stellar line-up of programming this next year.

With your donation, Holland will be able to:

  • Move into a new weekend showspace, and program WEEKLY events
  • Produce over 80 events including music, art, dance, film, poetry and more!
  • Proudly host more than 10 art exhibits and installations in the Holland Gallery
  • Host more than 20 diverse workshop opportunities
  • Keep the Holland HQ open and running
  • Continue to host 50/50 Local Music Showcases
  • Execute incredible collaborative events
  • Put on large scale city-wide events
  • Support and grow Spoken Views
  • Secure more national talent to travel, tour through, and perform in Reno

For you...

Since we’re very aware that we’re asking you to part with $100, we want to give you a little something in return. Your specially crafted Thank You Package will contain an awesome Holland t-shirt or Compilation CD (you choose), a special postcard print designed by a local artist, and an invitation to a radical thank you gathering once we make our goal! We'll also document this effort by adding your name to the list of supporters who've joined this campaign--showcasing the amazing power of our community and the people who believe in all-ages art and music.

Also, you’ll be a part of the Holland 300, which carries more value (for us, and for the young people in our community), than anything we could possibly give you.
